The Boyd Company traces its roots back to 1950, when a young man named Joe Boyd, along with his family, arrived in Kerman with dreams and a vision of how to develop a young town. Today, his vision is a reality! Kerman is one of the finest communities in the Valley - progressive and forward thinking. From Joe's first homes, which sold for as little as $8,000, to the magnificence of Boyd Estates, we've been involved in the construction of 27 subdivisions and over 800 new homes.

  Kerman is Home

Proud to call Kerman our home, the Boyd family has taken an active role in the direction of the community. It's a tradition that began with Joe, who helped develop the city's first planning commission in 1953, directed the building of Kerman Floyd Elementary School as a Board Member, and established high building standards to ensure a beautiful community. Not only did we build homes, but we were instrumental in attracting one-third of all new businesses to the community and developed offices and shopping centers to promote the economic stability of Kerman. In 1971, Joe took on a partner - his son, Ken - who carries on the tradition of community involvement by giving his time to numerous local and worldwide endeavors.

As the Fire Commissioner, Ken played a key role in having the headquarters of the North Central Fire District located in Kerman. Ken's leadership as President of the Rotary Club helped bring paramedics to our community. He has expanded his vision to serve as a world leader in Rotary International. And, in 2002, Ken was honored as the California State Businessman of the Year.
